Gerber Clutch is a good EDC pocket or keychain tool. The Gerber Clutch tools include; plier head, screwdrivers, bottle opener, file and tweezers Overall Length is 4.13 inches open and 2.56 inches closed. The Gerber Clutch has a 1.77 inch blade and weighs 2.4 ounces
Comparing scissors on a few EDC (Every Day Carry) pocket tools; the Gerber Shortcut, Leatherman Micra, Victorinox Huntsman, Victorinox Executive and the Victorinox Classic SD. These tools all offer scissors. If I were packing a first aid kit for a car or truck, I would include a pair of EMT scissors. But for everyday pocket carry or smaller first aid kits and survival kits these options might do well. Scissors in the Swiss Army Knives are very sharp and well made but will not cut through denim or other thick materials. The larger scissors on the Gerber Shortcut and Leatherman Micra is large enough to cut through many thicker materials
IDL Tools T-10 and the Leatherman Squirt P4 side by side. These are two pocket pliers we have been reviewing. The two are about the same size when open and weight. But when closed the Leatherman Squirt P4 is slimer and more comfortable. The Leatherman Squirt P4 is just under 1-inch wide, 2-1/4-inches long, 4 inches long when open, 1/2-inch thick. The IDL Tools T-10 is 1-1/4-inch wide, just over 2-inches long 4 inches long when open and just over 1/4-inch thick. The IDL Tools T-10 weighs 1.8 ounces, the Leatherman Squirt P4 Pocket Pliers weighs 2.1 ounces. The IDL Tools T-10 jaw opens wider to a little over an inch, the Leatherman Squirt P4 open to only a bit less than an inch.

We saw these Sampo Ball Berring Swivels at a local fishing tackle shop. These heavy duty ball berring swivels are made for salt water fishing. I thought of about a dozen uses for these when I saw them; key rings, attaching loops of 550 cord to knives and tools, flashlight attachments, digital cameras and cell phones. The larger swivels have solid (welded) rings and look to be very heavy duty
I recently went to Orlando and got screwed over by the car rental place..
I had intended to get a rental and buy a knife at a local store or someplace.. but no car, no knife
All I had was my Swiss Tech Utili-Key 6 in 1 tool (which was allowed on the plane) for almost a week as my only blade
I wasn’t cutting down trees obviously, but all the minor tasks I typically use my pocket knife for, that dang key handled quite well
I am very impressed by this little gadget
Much more impressed now than all the while I’ve had it and never really used it
Utili-Key 6 in 1 key ring tool, straight knife blade, a serrated cutting blade, a flat screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver and a micro-eyeglass screwdriver
The key clips it’s self to a key ring when closed. Stays closed well. A good tool that is easy to carry with keys
The Utili-Key can be opened to half way or all the way open (180) to use the blade effectively.

A photon is a quantum of light, or the smallest possible packet of light at a given wavelength. This very well designed and well made light from LFI lives up to its name. The Freedom Micro is a bright light is a small but tough unit. This light is packed full of features, but is about the size and weight of a US quarter. For a keyring, survival kit, first aid kit or even a zipper pull. The potential uses of this small light are unlimited. We have used keyring lights from LFI for many years and this new Photon Freedom Micro is another great item from them, that is made in the USA. This light is actually a Fashion Freedom Micro light called the Freedom Micro Combat
The Gerber Artifact is a solidly built inexpensive keychain size multi-tool. The Artifact Features: a removable #11 hobby blade (x-acto style), a philips screwdriver, Small and medium flat screwdrivers, Wire stripper, Pry bar / paint can opener, Lanyard or keychain attachment hole. It is made in china which so far is its biggest downside from our initial tests during the last few weeks. It is made of ‘cast stainless steel’ according to the package, it is stout and we have not been able to break it or even bend it so far. The blade is not something I use too much, but it is easy to replace when dull or broken. At just under $10 this handy tool is a must have in our opinion
